Just another day at the office

Last week Robert and his boss were invited by the Air National Guard to get a better view of the 9,000 acres they work at everyday and in exchange they let the Air National Guard do training exercises at the plant. They picked them up in a Chinook helicopter capable of hauling 2 Humvees or over 35 people! Robert said it was quite a ride. Him and his boss took over 200 pictures so I think they enjoyed the view. Here is their ride to pick them up

Rice Cereal

Monday night we decided to give Jake his first taste of rice cereal. He took to it much quicker than I thought he would. He seemed to like it, although I'm not sure how much of it he actually swallowed. Cody thought it was pretty fun that Jake was finally eating baby food, I think Cody is excited for Jake to grow up, me, not so much!

He thought it was pretty funny that we were all watching him

More Ketchup please!

Six months ago the sight of Ketchup on Cody's plate would have thrown him into hysterics.
Well the other day this picture tells all. He was caught dipping his grapes into his now favorite condiment. He now needs Ketchup with just about everything. He dips normal favorites in it, you know fries, hamburgers, fish sticks, chicken nuggets, the staples of his nutritional needs. He also loves to dip potato chips in it and now I guess we will add grapes to the list, when he saw how gross I thought it was of course it then became even funnier to him. What a goofball our little Cody is. It is amazing though how you can tell when he is going through a growth spurt. Last night at 8pm he told us that it was time for bed and then he went and turned the T.V. off (which the t.v. off thing is a miracle in itself) and he headed up to his room. Me and Robert just looked at each other and then jumped up to get his bedtime snack ready and head up after him before he changed his mind. Then this morning at breakfast he ate 5 mini pancakes, one big one and 2 glasses of OJ. Before I know it he will be taller then me, which I'm sure if Robert was writing this he would say that will be next week (he teases me because he thinks I'm short). I really want to keep Cody at the age he is right now, he is so funny and thoughtful most of the time, he is the best big brother and we all love him to pieces.

Our Corny Family

Ok so Robert is mildly obsessed with corn fields, I guess it has something to do with pheasant hunting, who really knows, but today while on a drive he suggested that we take some pictures with some tall Kansas corn. We know that we are a bit "corny" but who cares, we are who we are!

Cody's first day of Preschool

Today was Cody's first day of Preschool. He has been so excited to start preschool, he would ask us everyday if he got to go yet, so this morning he was so happy that I finally said "yes you are going to school today." He wanted to go as soon as he got out of bed but we put him in afternoon preschool because let's be honest here, I could not possibly get him, me and Jake up, ready and to school by 8:30am, I know we will have to do it sooner or later but I am opting for later at the moment. Anyway he had to wait until 12:30 to go so he settled for wearing his backpack while he ate breakfast.
The time finally came to get in the car and go, yeah. We got to his school "Little People's Place" with plenty of time to spare. His teachers name is Miss Becky, he walked right in and started to play, he really didn't even look back. I guess I should be grateful he had such a easy time being dropped off, or should I be sad because he probably thinks I'm really that boring and school is a welcome break from mom, either way he barley said good-bye.
Me and Jake went home and Jake actually went down for a nap right away. So there I was, one kid at school and one in bed, I had no idea what to do, the house was so quiet, the dogs were looking at me like "what's going on here?" So I ate lunch, read some of the book I have been trying to start for months and cleaned the house a bit, it was actually a nice little break!
At 3:30 me and Jake went to pick Cody up. Cody's teacher said what a good job he did and couldn't stop commenting on how polite he was and that he used his words so well, and that she was very impressed with him. Yeah I was so happy, he's turning into a little man. He told me all the things he did on the way home, he said he had so much fun and wants to go again tomorrow, which is good because it's already been paid for.

Jake's three month pictures

At the end of last month we took Jake to get his 3 month pictures taken. He was such a cutie and I think they turned out so cute. Of course we had to get one of the boys together, that's my favorite one. We have two very cute little men if I do say so myself! Jake is growing up so fast, sometimes i wish we could slow him down a bit but I guess you have to let them grow up. This last three months has flown by, I can't even remember life without Jake, he is such a good baby and he loves to coo and smile so much now. We love you Jake!
