Jake's 9 month Photo Shoot

Yesterday I took Jake to get his 9 month pictures taken. I was just planning on getting one or two poses of just Jake because we just had Cody's pic's taken, but of course they took such cute pictures that I got suckered into a whole package worth of pictures, oh well! Jake was sure smiley and was enjoying this photo shoot much more than the one before Christmas. I can't believe he is 9 months already, time flies. He is getting around much faster these days and loves, loves to just play. He loves Cody and his dogs and of course his mom and dad. We love you too Jakie!

Kansas Whitetail's

Ok I have been getting a lot of flack for not doing a post on the Deer hunting here in Kansas so here it goes. Robert shot his first Whitetail deer this season. He was very excited to bring it home to show Cody and the excitement was mutual. There have been several deer hung in my garage this season and Cody is always excited to check them out. Robert got this deer's antlers made into a European mount and that is hanging in our guest/dog room, I thought that was pretty nice of me to allow, it actually looks very nice.
Robert's 10 point Kansas Whitetail Deer
At the first of December Robert's brother Jason came out to visit/hunt, mostly the hunt part. He was after a monster Whitetail of his own and boy did they find one for him. This was the biggest buck that Robert had ever seen in the area that they hunt. It made the record books and is currently at the taxidermist being mounted to hang in Jason's house. The deer had part of a fence stuck in it's antlers when he shot it and all the guys thought that was pretty cool. I kept suggesting that they take the fence off for the pictures but apparently I didn't get it.

Well I am looking forward to this years deer season when I can walk out in my garage and smell the fresh venison and see the blood stained wall, oh the memories! I'm just joking, well not really but I don't mind it too much. Robert is lucky to have such a loving wife that let's him hang dead deer in the garage and have dead birds in her freezer, I must love him I guess!

Time to organize

Since it's the new year we thought we would try to organize the house a bit. Robert wanted to make shelves in the garage for our shoes so he went around and got out all the kids shoes to see what fit who and so on. We came up with 66 pairs of shoes for the boys. He was a bit flabbergasted but I quickly reminded him that all those shoes are from the ages of 0-4yrs. He had to set them all up to make it look worse than it really was, well OK it did look a bit like a shoe store but he is just lucky that we don't have a girl, I guarantee it would have been much worse than this. Oh yes and do take note of the wonderful outfit that Cody wore for the day!

Christmas 2008

Christmas 2008 was a fun year. We went to Utah to both our families houses and to Heber to go on the Polar Express, which we try to do every year. Cody was so excited for Santa to come this year and Jake was so fun for his first Christmas. We had a lot of fun in Utah and drove in a lot of snow! We hadn't seen that much snow in a long time and while it was fun we decided that we don't miss driving in it. Cody had a blast sledding in Price with his cousins. Cody even managed to sneak in a trip to the dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point with his Grandma and Papa Denney before we left. While we had a great time in Utah it was good to get home and settle back into normal life. It was so fun to see most of our friends and family and hopefully those we didn't get to see we will get to see next time we come to visit. Here are some of the fun pictures that we took this Christmas season!
